Every Post COVID Care facility offers different services and access to specialists. We have labeled each according to services offered: Multidisciplinary Long-Term Recovery (most comprehensive), Rehabilitation & Therapy (focus on rehabilitation) and Acute COVID-19 Recovery (focus on improved function after severe illness or hospitalization, often in-patient services). *Survivor Corps does not endorse any providers.

Motion PT Recovery Program

Rehabilitation and Therapy

Every Motion PT location has therapists who are trained in the Mount Sinai Post-COVID Care protocol and will help you safely get back to what moves you. The Program’s staff understand the need for care and compassion more than ever for their patients suffering from post-COVID symptoms, or Post-Acute COVID Syndrome (PACS). The Post-COVID program caters to each patient’s individual needs, taking them through a supervised three-phase protocol.

The mission of the Program is to get the patient back to their pre-COVID self. Motion PT aims to help patients recover from long term COVID symptoms such as Fatigue and weakness, Dizziness and confusion, Shortness of breath, Heart rate variability, Muscle/joint pain and swelling, and Headache.

Kennedy Krieger Institute - Pediatric Post COVID-19 Rehabilitation Clinic

Rehab and Physical Therapy

Kennedy Krieger Institute has introduced the Pediatric Post COVID-19 Rehabilitation Clinic for children, teens and adolescents (under age 21) who have recovered from the COVID-19 virus but need additional support to regain lost neurological and physical function as a result of their illness.  The Interdisciplinary Clinic, led by Dr. Kathryn Wagner MD PhD and Dr. Melissa Trovato MD, provides the following services: Neurology, Pediatric Rehabilitation, Mental Health Care, and Physical and Occupational Therapies.

Patients (under age 21) must have had a confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis, be 28+ days beyond their positive COVID-19 test, and be asymptomatic for evaluation. They will be seen the same week they call for appointment ( in-person or telehealth).

Johns Hopkins Medicine Post Acute COVID Team (PACT)

Multidisciplinary Long-Term Recovery

The intention behind the Johns Hopkins Post Acute COVID Team (PACT) is to provide an interdisciplinary, standardized approach to respond to the needs of COVID-19 survivors who have been hospitalized. PACT will offer inpatient, outpatient and at-homes services from a large cohort of medical specialties, including psychiatry, psychology, neurology, cardiology, infectious disease, dermatology, nephrology, hepatology, and hematology. PACT will also collaborate with pharmacy colleagues for medication management recommendations, and with radiology colleagues for expert review of COVID-19-related imaging.

UM Rehabilitation and Orthopaedic Institute COVID Recovery Rehabilitation Unit

Rehab and Physical Therapy

The COVID Recovery Rehabilitation Unit at the University of Maryland’s Rehabilitation and Orthopaedic Institute is an inpatient unit that provides support to those recovering from acute COVID-19 infection who require rehabilitation for lung and breathing issues, nutritional deficits, swallowing and cognitive issues, and/or overall weakness and limitations in activities of daily living. The Unit team includes specialists from neurology, physiatry, respiratory therapy, case management/social work, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech-language pathology.

The COVID Recovery Rehabilitation Unit will treat any patients who meet the following criteria:
- Age >16 years (if under 18 years, >50kg)
- Formerly COVID positive but asymptomatic for >72 hours
- Have received 2 negative COVID tests >24 hours apart
- Meet criteria for acute rehabilitation or chronic level of care
- Pain control adequate to tolerate 2-3 hours of rehabilitation therapy every day
- Are psychologically and medically stable, but medical condition is acute enough to warrant regular inpatient physician oversight
- Have deficits in mobility, daily living and/or health maintenance

The Unit comprises 28 beds and runs 24 hours a day with therapy provided 7AM-5PM Monday-Friday. The UM team is committed to providing a safe and successful discharge plan for each patient.

Multidisciplinary Long-Term Recovery

The COVID Recovery Program is a collaboration among medical specialists across all MedStar Health hospitals. The team aims to support patients recovering from COVID-19 with persistent symptoms such as:

  1. Fatigue

  2. Pain

  3. Persistent shortness of breath

  4. Thinking, focus, and memory issues

  5. Weakness

The Program will support your recovery by offering a wide range of services from a team of medical specialists that will help you return to your normal activities as soon as possible. The team is led by physical medicine and rehabilitation physicians and advanced practice providers who specialize in the rehabilitation of patients with a variety of physical impairments. They will perform a detailed evaluation and provide necessary referrals to specialists who can further address your symptoms.

A patient navigator and community health advocate will assist you with scheduling and managing your plan of care. Visits may be via telemedicine or onsite at MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital or MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital.

Please be advised that the Recovery Program functions as an outpatient clinic and does not provide access to an after-hours or on call provider. It should not be a substitute to your established relationship with your primary care provider.  Any urgent or quickly escalating symptoms should be addressed via urgent care, your primary care provider, or a visit to the emergency department. Communications set to your provider via the patient portal will be addressed during regular clinic hours Monday through Friday.

Patients interested in the COVID Recovery Program should be at least 6 weeks from the start of their COVID symptoms and should have documentation of at least one positive COVID-19 test. Your doctor can also state that your symptoms indicated COVID without a positive test. If you do not have a documented positive test a referral from a provider will be necessary to enter the program.

Crossings Healing and Wellness provides Post Covid Care in support of full recovery for each of their patients. Their medical treatment regulates, balances, and vitalizes physiological, mental/emotional, and structural systems: namely, Immune, Autonomic, Lymph, Cranial, Sacral and organ functioning. 

Crossings Healing and Wellness employs a hands-on, complementary treatment approach utilizing Acupuncture, Physical Therapy and body work to address the root cause of prolonged symptoms. The team appreciates the uniqueness of each Post Covid patient and guides patients in choices of western as well as complementary medical care to bring them an embodied awareness of their personal healing process.
