Hospicio Hospital in Margao, South Go, has begun to treat patients who are still recovering from symptoms associated with prior COVID-19 infection. The Hospicio Post Covid Care Clinic will assist COVID long-haulers with rehabilitation. These patients will first be given a medical assessment before receiving comprehensive, individualized care from physicians, pulmonologists, physiotherapists, Ayush medical personnel, and yoga therapists.

In a first for the state, Ramaiah Memorial Hospital has launched a Post-Covid Care and Rehabilitation Centre. The Centre’s Assessment Team includes neurologists, physicians and other experts. Ramaiah Hospital has seen over 2,000 patients, maintains a database on all discharged patients and is monitoring those with ongoing health issues, post-recovery.

Thane Municipal Corporation Post-COVID Care Centre at Majiwada
The Majiwada Post-COVID Care Centre, sponsored by the Thane Municipal Corporation, will be the first centre of its kind to treat patients recovering from COVID-19 infection in the city of Thane. The Centre has a capacity to treat over 400 patients and will provide a team of yoga experts, dieticians, physiotherapists, and counsellors to assist patients with individualized rehabilitation. The civic body of Thane will reportedly also provide a bus route from Thane station to the Care Centre that will be available every 30 minutes from 6.30 AM until midnight.

Summary: The Kilpauk Medical College Hospital has launched an outpatient rehabilitation clinic for individuals experiencing ongoing symptoms due to past COVID-19 infection. The Care Clinic will be staffed by doctors specializing in both physical medicine and rehabilitation and psychiatry. According to the hospital’s Dean, “The purpose of the post COVID-19 clinic is to address day-to-day problems faced by patients and help them in the long-run… around 20 to 30% of those who had severe COVID-19 experience health problems such as dry cough, excessive sweating, breathlessness and psychological issues such as depression in the post COVID-19 period.” The Clinic will provide individualized treatment for each patient which incorporates diet and lifestyle modifications as well as counseling.
